Nogizaki46 Idol Sayuri Matsumura Wants to be a Voice Actress

Already boasting her voice talents as an idol, Nogizaka46 member Sayuri Matsumura wants to lend her voice to anime.
In a recent interview for women's life Japanese news source "Woman Insight", Matsumura expressed her interest in becoming a voice actress.
"I'd like to become a voice actress for anime," she said. "But I've realized how difficult it can be. I'm still growing used to the job I have now and am still putting a lot of effort into that. I feel like I could get the hang of it, but there are a lot of people in the industry that are still struggling. Thinking about wanting to do it is very different from actually doing it."
Evidently, she's had this desire since the beginning of her idol career.
"About one or two years after I became an idol, I really thought about becoming a voice actress. But now it's five years later and it seems a little less possible after being an idol for so long."
But despite her recent apprehensions, Matsumura certainly hasn't given up and still has her hopes up for eventually entering the industry.
"I don't think I have the voice for it, but I want to keep at it. I've recently thought about how many people work at it as opposed to people being born with it."
When asked about what she would like to do specifically in voice acting, Matsumura had a quick answer.
"I'd definitely want to do a weekly broadcast anime," she responded. "I figure I could start off small and slowly work my way up to bigger and bigger roles. At least, it'd be nice if it were that easy."
As a voice acting hopeful, Matsumura is already well-versed with people in the industry.
"My favorite voice actress if Yui Horie (Classroom Crisis, Cross Ange) and my favorite voice actor is Hiro Shimono (Attack on Titan, Karneval). Lately, though, I've really liked Sōma Saitō (Rokka: Braves of the Six Flowers, Chaos Dragon)."
She's even thought about which voice actor she might like to marry.
"I might like Shimono or Saitō or even Yūki Kaji (Attack on Titan, Nisekoi), but I also really like deep-voiced actors like Junichi Suwabe (Yuri Kuma Arashi, Gangsta.) and Yuichiro Umehara (Yowamushi Pedal, Cute High Earth Defense Club Love!).
Naturally, Matsumura enjoys watching anime in her down time.
"I really like School-Live this year, and I'm really looking forward to Young Black Jack since Umehara is in it!"
