Next year's Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Takarajima (Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Treasure Island) film is already inspiring a real escape game. "Nobita's Escape from Treasure Island" will launch in 24 cities in Japan starting on March 3.

The game will task groups of four to rescue a captured Doraemon. Ticket sales opened for SCRAP members on November 11 and will close on November 17. Tickets will then open to the public on December 8.

Eiga Doraemon: Nobita no Takarajima film centers on Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo as they set out on an adventure in the Caribbean Sea. Nobita is the captain of a ship and fights his enemies on board. Shizuka gets kidnapped, and a storm impedes their journey. Mini-Dora robots help Nobita and friends on their journey. When the adventurers finally find the mysterious Treasure Island, they discover it is more than just an ordinary island.

Kazuaki Imai, an episode director on the Doraemon television anime, is directing the project as his first Doraemon franchise film. Novelist Genki Kawamura (your name., The Boy and The Beast producer) is penning the script. FuRyu is developing a Nintendo 3DS game based on the Doraemon franchise's 38th film.
