Univeral Studio Japan's Sailor Moon 4D Show Gets Extended Run

posted on by Lynzee Loveridge

The "Sailor Moon: The Miracle 4D" attraction launched at Universal Studios Japan in Osaka on March 16 and was planned to run June 24. The theater show includes special merchandise, including a replica of Sailor Moon's Cutie Moon Rod that glows in five different colors. The orb portion of the rod was changed to imitate the world from Universal Studio's logo. The park is also selling a Luna P case, T-shirts, hair accessories, purses, pins of Sailor Moon's magic weapons, candy tins shaped like Sailor Moon's brooches, and a necklace of Chibi-Usa's Space Time Key and Silver Crystal.

All of this was too much to pass up for excited fans. The show's popularity has guaranteed that it will now run through the entire summer until September 30. The park is updating its Sailor Moon photo backdrops for the extension and changing up the cafe menu. Joining the tasty treats are the Luna P Ball Mousse Orange Fromage and Sailor Moon Strawberry Mango Smoothie.

Sailor Moon: The Miracle 4D proved so popular that even original creator Naoko Takeuchi was pleased with the show. She said, “I wish I could experience it every day! Seeing the beautiful Sailor Guardians leaping about and fighting evil, it's all so amazing. It makes me glad to be alive.”

You can't get a bigger approval than that, I think.

Universal Studio's Japan current Cool Japan campaign line-up includes Sailor Moon: The Miracle 4D, Detective Conan, Final Fantasy, and Monster Hunter for a fun-filled experience. Last year's Evangelion XR roller coaster will replace the Final Fantasy coaster on July 6.
