Nobunaga no Shinobi Anime's 'Episode 0' Shows Chidori, Nobunaga's Meeting

The official website of the television anime of Naoki Shigeno's Nobunaga no Shinobi four-panel manga began streaming the anime's "Episode 0" on March 24.
The episode introduces the female ninja Chidori as she is rescued from drowning by warlord Oda Nobunaga himself, and she pledges herself to his cause due to his mission to end chaos in his time. The latter part of the episode also introduces the anime's characters.
The episode screened at the AnimeJapan 2016 event this past weekend, and videos for the anime screened at the event with English subtitles.
The cast includes:
- Inori Minase as Chidori
- Wataru Hatano as Nobunaga
- Kappei Yamaguchi as Hideyoshi
- Ayumu Murase as Sukezō
- Chiaki Takahashi as Kichō
- Suzuko Mimori as Oichi
- Rie Kugimiya as Nene
Akitarō Daichi (Nurse Angel Ririka SOS, Sexy Commando Gaiden: Sugoi yo!! Masaru-san, Kamisama Kiss) is directing the anime at TMS Entertainment, and Junko Yamanaka (Detective Conan, Kamisama Kiss, ReLIFE) is designing the characters for animation.
The anime will premiere this year.
The gag manga centers on a young female ninja named Chidori, whose dream is to help the Warring States-era warlord Oda Nobunaga to achieve his goals. Shigeno launched the manga in Young Animal in 2008, and Hakusensha published the manga's ninth compiled volume last July. Hakusensha published the second volume of Shigeno's Nobunaga no Shinobi - Owari no Tōitsu-ki (Nobunaga's Shinobi - Chronicle of Owari's Unification) manga on February 29.
