Dead or Alive Xtreme 3's VR Support Launches

posted on by Karen Ressler
Update offers PS4 Pro support

Koei Tecmo Games announced on Monday that VR support for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune would launch on Tuesday, January 24. Players with the paid version of the game will be able to download the update for free until February 28, after which time it will cost 1,500 yen (about US$13).

The "VR Paradise" feature will allow players to access the Gravure Paradise, Event Paradise, and Photo Paradise modes in virtual reality. The update will offer PlayStation 4 Pro support for enhanced visuals, though it is the only part of the game to do so.

The VR passport is also available for 1,500 yen to players with the free-to-play version of the game. In addition, Koei Tecmo is offering the VR passport in a 2,900-yen (about US$27) package with usage rights for the characters Marie Rose and Honoka.

Koei Tecmo announced in July that VR support for the game would launch in October.

Koei Tecmo published the game exclusively in Japan and Asia for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on March 24. The game's PS Vita version is titled Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Venus, and the PS4 version is titled Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 Fortune.

Tecmo released the Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball game on the Xbox in North America, Japan, and Europe in 2003. In the game, players play as one of the women from the Dead or Alive fighting game series and partake in volleyball matches as well as other beach-related minigames and shopping. Tecmo released a sequel, Dead or Alive Xtreme 2, on the Xbox 360 in North America, Japan, and Europe in 2006.
