posted on by Karen Ressler
Final chapter debuts in English next week

Kadokawa's Comic Newtype online manga platform published the final chapter of Hana Ichika's Napping Princess - The Story of the Unknown Me (Hirune Hime - Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari) manga on Friday. Yen Press will publish the final chapter in English on December 8. The second compiled volume will ship in Japan on December 9.

The manga, which adapts Kenji Kamiyama's Napping Princess film, debuted on February 27. Yen Press has been publishing the manga's chapters in English as they debut in Japan. The first compiled volume shipped in Japan on April 10 and in North America on April 24.

Yen Press describes the manga:

When Kokone sleeps she dreams of Heartland, a place full of technology and warring machines, where she's the Princess Ancien who possesses magical powers. But when events in her dreams and real life start to intersect, Kokone has to run from bad guys in both worlds. Will her dreams provide a way out, or get her into deeper trouble...?

The film opened in Japan on March 18 in 232 theaters nationwide, and ranked #9 in the Japanese box office in its opening weekend. The New York International Children's Film Festival (NYICFF) screened the film on March 19 in Japanese with English subtitles, and Anime Limited screened the film with subtitles and an English dub on August 16. GKIDS launched the film's wide opening in the United States on September 8.

Yen Press also licensed the film's novelization and will release it in May 2018.
