Viz's Shonen Jump to Preview Momiji no Kisetsu Manga

Masayoshi Satōsho's series premieres next week in Shonen Jump

Viz Media's digital English edition of Weekly Shonen Jump confirmed on Monday that it will begin a new round of "Jump Start" titles with Masayoshi Satōsho's Momiji no Kisetsu. The manga will debut in Japan and in Shueisha's Shonen Jump on May 14.

Satosho previously published a manga with the same name (but written differently) in Shueisha's Shonen Jump GIGA magazine. Shueisha published the manga's one compiled volume on December 4.

Shonen Jump describes the new Momiji no Kisetsu (Momiji's Shogi Time, a pun on "fall leaves season") manga as centering on a young man who aims to become a pro shogi player and Ryūō. The Ryūō Tournament is one of the eight major professional shogi title tournaments.

For its "Jump Start" initiative, Viz Media's Shonen Jump publishes the first three chapters of a new manga simultaneously with the Japanese release.

The Japanese edition of Shonen Jump will also publish Kazusa Inaoka's Kimi wo Shinryakuseyo! (Invade You!) manga in the magazine's 25th issue on May 21. Inaoka similarly serialized a manga with the same title in Shonen Jump GIGA.
