Live-Action Radiation House Series Casts Masataka Kubota, Tsubasa Honda

Manga centers on medical professionals in radiology department of hospital

The staff for the live-action series adaptation of Tomohiro Yokomaku and Taishi Mori's Radiation House manga revealed two main cast members for the series on Friday. Masataka Kubota (left in picture below) plays radiology technician Iori Igarashi, while Tsubasa Honda plays radiologist An Amakasu.

The manga centers on the medical professionals in the radiology department of a hospital. For example, medical radiographers use X-rays and CT scans to probe the causes of diseases and uncover pathological changes, while radiologists read the results and offer diagnoses.

Yokomaku and Mori launched the manga in Grand Jump in October 2015. Shueisha published the manga's sixth compiled book volume last July, and the seventh volume will ship on March 19.

Yokomaku launched his Smoking Gun - Minkan Kasōken Chōsa'in Nagareda Midori (Smoking Gun – Civilian Forensic Research Investigator Midori Nagareda) forensic mystery manga with art by Shūji Takeya alongside Grand Jump magazine's launch in 2012. The manga ended in November 2014, and Shueisha shipped 10 compiled book volumes for the manga. The manga received a live-action series adaptation that aired on Fuji TV from April to June 2014.

Mori's 2009-2013 manga Kyō no Asuka Show inspired an original web anime adaptation. Mori began Kuchibiru ni Uta o (A Song to Your Lips), a manga adaptation of Eiichi Nakata's original novel, in Shogakugan's Monthly Shonen Sunday (Gessan) magazine in 2013 and ended the series in 2014. A film adaptation of the manga opened in theaters in February 2015.
