The official website for Hataage! Kemonomichi ( Rise Up! Animal Road), the television anime adaptation of Natsume Akatsuki's Kemonomichi manga began streaming a promotional video for the anime on Friday. The video reveals more cast for the anime, and the site also unveiled a new key visual and character visuals for the anime.

The below promotional video does not contain any footage from the anime, but takes the form of a fictional fight press conference, with real-life professional wrestlers Harashima and MAO portraying the in-story characters Kemona Mask and MAO, respectively.

The cast, including the previously announced Katsuyuki Konishi and Tetsu Inada, stars(Note: Character name romanizations are not official.):

Tetsu Inada as MAO (Macadamian Ogre)

Katsuyuki Konishi as Genzō Shibata/Kemona Mask

Arisa Sakuraba as Carmilla

Yuki Yagi as Hanako

Akira Sekine as Shigure

The anime will premiere on October 2 on Tokyo MX and Abema TV.

Kazuya Miura (DRAMAtical Murder) is directing the anime at ENGI. Touko Machida (Lucky Star, DRAMAtical Murder, Harukana Receive) is in charge of the series scripts. Tomoka Noumi (episode animation director for Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, Sagrada Reset) is designing the characters.

The manga follows masked wrestler Genzō Shibata, who likes all kinds of animals and creatures. One day he is summoned to another world, where a princess asks him to help kill magical beasts, but he gets mad and puts her in a German suplex. Instead, he begins life as a pet shop owner in the other world.

Akatsuki (Konosuba) writes the series and Baka & Test - Summon the Beasts artist team Mo-suke Mattaku and Yumeuta are providing the art. The duo launched the manga in Shōnen Ace in November 2016. The fourth compiled volume shipped on January 26.
