Monster Hunter Wilds Game's Trailer Reveals 3rd Title Update's September 29 Launch, Previews Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection streams extended announcement trailer


CAPCOM began streaming during its TGS2025 CAPCOM Online Program on Wednesday trailers for Monster Hunter Wilds and Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, a new turn-based role-playing game in the franchise. The video for Monster Hunter Wilds previews the game's third title update, which includes its collaboration with the Final Fantasy XIV Online, scheduled to launch on September 29. The trailer also teases the fourth title update, introducing the new returning monster Gogmazios, scheduled for December. The video for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is an extended version of its release date trailer.

Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy XIV Collaboration

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection Extended Release Date Trailer

Monster Hunter Wilds is adding the Omega Planetes monster based on the creature from Final Fantasy XIV. The video also teases the Dark Knight and Pictomancer jobs from Final Fantasy XIV, a Chocobo skin for Seikrets, a Morbol skin for Palicoes, Cactuars (Sabotenders), new pendants, and gestures such as one resembling the Cactuar pose. HR 41+ and completion of the story are required to access the collaboration content. Alpha the Chocobo from the Omega storyline in Final Fantasy XIV is also part of the new encounter's story.

The Festival of Accord: Dreamspell seasonal event will take place in Monster Hunter Wilds from October 22 to November 12. The Arch-tempered Nu Udra encounter will become available for a limited time starting on October 22.

Final Fantasy XIV will also get collaboration content in early October, including Seikrets as new mounts and Guardian Arkveld from Monster Hunter Wilds as an encounter. Level 100 and completion of the Main Scenario are required to access the content.

Final Fantasy XIV and the Monster Hunter series previously collaborated for the former's Stormblood expansion and the latter's Monster Hunter World game in August 2017. Final Fantasy XIV added a Rathalos trial and mount, Palico and Poogie minions, furniture items, costumes, and furniture. Monster Hunter World added the Behemoth monster from the Final Fantasy franchise.

The Monster Hunter Wilds game debuted globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on February 28. The game sold over 8 million copies worldwide in its first three days. According to the company, this is the fastest that one of its titles has reached this milestone. As of March, the game has sold 10 million copies worldwide.

The first title update for the game launched on April 4. The second title update launched on June 30.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection will launch on March 13 for Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

Monster Hunter Stories originally launched for Nintendo 3DS in October 2016 in Japan and in the West in September 2017. CAPCOM released the game for smartphones in Japan in December 2017 and in the West in September 2018. A remastered game launched for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam in June 2024.

The Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin game launched worldwide for Switch and PC via Steam in July 2021.

The Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON tie-in anime premiered in Japan in October 2016. Crunchyroll streamed the series with English subtitles as it aired and Funimation streamed an English dub.
