Crunchyroll Acquires Oshi no Ko Season 3, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea, More Anime

Crunchyroll announced during its New York Comic Con panel on Thursday that it will stream the third season of the Oshi no Ko anime (Trailer), for which previous seasons streamed on HIDIVE. The company also announced that it has acquired the worldwide theatrical rights to the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea film (Trailer). Sony Pictures Entertainment and Crunchyroll will stream the film in theaters with dates to be announced. In addition, Crunchyroll will stream the following anime:

A Crunchyroll spokesperson recently released a statement regarding different subtitles on its service, citing "internal system problems."

The first television anime of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari's Oshi no Ko manga premiered in Japan in April 2023 with a 90-minute first episode. HIDIVE streamed the anime as it aired in Japan, and it also streamed an English dub. The company stated that the anime became the streaming service's "#1 series launch in the streamer's history." The anime's second season premiered in July 2024 on Tokyo MX and over 29 other channels throughout Japan. HIDIVE streamed the anime as it ared and also streamed the anime's English dub. The third season will stream in January 2026.

That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime the Movie: Tears of the Azure Sea (Gekijō-ban Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Sōkai no Namida-hen), the second anime film for the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime (Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken) franchise, will open in Japan on February 27.
