I wouldn't exactly say the new Lupin III "crapped the bed". It was a great series. However, I could see where people might dislike the ending.

But hey, I liked the Korra season finale, so what do I know?

How many Japanese publishers are saying "no US BluRays"? It sounds like what happened to the hentai anime market, but with the small concession that they still allow the DVDs to scrape through. I guess they don't see licensing out the low quality two-decade old optical media as an economic threat anymore, but will it help increase sales in Japan or will the otaku wise up?

Toonami's success will ride on clearing out the old titles and being nothing but new, no repeats or reruns either. This was brought up before about people bitching when InuYasha was pulled years back, but should it get pulled from due ratings, it will be amusing to see people complain that they want Toonami back for the third time.

Geneon doesn't seem to care at this point with shana seasons 1-2 coming out dvd bluray combo, chobits and flcl. I think it's a problem with the licnese holder, look at nisa for example.

To correct Justin, quite a lot of anime movies come out, actually. Usually 20+ a year.

Yeah, I misspoke there. Meant to say 1-2 movies that fans seem to care about. Damn live tapings. :p

I hope that girl who asked about KnJ wasn't serious...

Oh man, that 4Kids question was hilarious, especially how that guy had the "stereotypical nasal nerd" voice.

You're right, there's 3 there that I care about, and last time I checked, I'm a fan.

He was totally what you're thinking he looked like too. He obviously only just left his parent's basement to attend the con. Zac had to bribe him with a 5 Hour Energy just to get him to leave.

I wasn't talking about one specific person. Theres a lot of movies that different people care about. The way Justin was saying its like 2 high profile movies and the rest are kids anime or crap.

Its a lot of high profile series (K-On, Strike Witches, Heavens Lost Property, Berserk, Sengoku Basara, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Hayate no Gotoku, Negima), along with lots of original highly rated stuff (Hotarubi no Mori e, From Up on Poppy Hill, The Princess and the Pilot, A Letter to Momo). Basically, something for everyone.

I got 7 out that list that I care about, I've seen more but they were crap like Hayate, Negima, and SnO. The number of anime films has to be going up, things that would have been OVAs, like Towa no Quon, are instead bumped up to film. I'm kind of surprised Unicorn is an OVA, there'd have been no problem releasing those theatrically.

Zac, I have to say....I disagree with your statement on fighting games...I follow the scene, and part of the wide rift between Street Fighter players and "Anime fighter" players is that SF is commonly looked down upon for not being as overly complex and multi-layered as games like Melty Blood, Blazblue, and Arcana Heart.

Just look at something like this...you could never have matches this intense in SF

I love the fact that the ANNCast always has one crazy dude, and this time we get the guy who expects Zac to mock a bunch of people getting fired. As Zac and Justin said, a lot of people are going to get a lot less work because of this.

That dude also cut in line to ask his "question". I was actually the guy in the motion cat ears that went after him. That was actually pretty interesting to watch, and it was cool to finally put a face to the voice behind Zac and Justin. Now I don't have to picture Zac as Skeletor, and Justin as a bitter old man shaking his fist at the world.

I sat next to him, I was the Nami cosplayer who got the first question (and for some reason can't sound erudite in person), and he was grumpily huffing about his five-hour energy and how he wanted something better, I pointed out that they give out whatever, and hey I got Dragonball Z coasters. Incidentally he left his energy on the seat afterwards, and I got it. Anime smile
