Fukushima City? Sandai? I'd blame it on radiation sickness. Laughing

It doesn't matter, the law is very specific to this; and he is charged not only as a cop, but a supervisor to enforce the law. As a hopefully one day produced screenwriter, this is not only intolerable, but theft as well. Its easy for him to say "for personal use" but it's still theft from the artists, writers, animators, and the list goes on. Three times, problem right there.

Oh, and btw, my day job, I'm a cop. Shocked

I don't see how that's a problem.

Have you ever recorded a movie off of television? Had a friend rip a DVD for you?

If so, you have done the exact same thing as this guy did.

Actually no, I haven't. But I do download anime, MP3s, etc. Is it illegal? Sure. The difference is that I'm not trying to argue that it is OK, unlike some of the people here who are defending the guy's actions saying he did nothing wrong.

SO?

I'm 29 and going to be 30 in April, and i could care less if people know that i watch anime about little girls. and i don't think he cares either if he's also one of those die hard otakus . If it was real little girls then that is a whole other animal.

But the illegal recording will seriously damage his reputation.he should consider moving to the US cause really the so called copyright laws here are so pathetic compared to the strict laws in japan,it's not funny.

the only times it ever have any teeth at all is only for big time Hollywood blockbuster movies and shockingly for the porn and hentai industry and even bollywood movies are being illegally recorded and streamed online, though mainly for Hollywood movies.

it's only then that the big bad MPAA flex their muscles.

though the weirdest thing is that somehow PIXIV have been able to keep their OVA series off of streaming sites and their not a US company so they shouldn't have any jurisdiction here.

Either way he's definitely going to have a hard time keeping his job and being a otaku too,so he should consider relocating to the US.at least our copyright laws are laughable compared to theirs.

One thing I will say is this, stupid laws get ignored by the people all the time.

When you walk past a sign something like this and ignore it, you accept the consequences.

Sigh... I love that we are still defining what people can watch and enjoy based on things like age and gender. Go societal norms! (Anime exclamation)

Forgot to remove lens cap the first two times?

video quality? It's a camrip, so it'll look horrible no matter what.
