Whatever sexual fetish you can imagine (no matter how weird or disgusting or absurd), there is someone out there doing it and deriving pleasure from it. Wonder if African witch doctors are upset that we use the word fetish in such a negative manner. When a fetish is a small idol, or something like that. See Kirikou et La Sorciere, or Abunai.

But the twisted thing about this world is that if you could create pliant souless clones who objected to nothing there would be plenty of buyers (and unfortuately it wouldn't stop the traffic in "real" people either). That's why I join the "I feel dirty just replying to this topic" crowd. It goes to a really dark corner which nothing nice can be said. All the best, Nani? |

Sexuality, especially sexuality that one considers to be odd, is never an easy topic to discuss but it is something that we've all thought about at least once. And I don't mean considering sex with a young girl or stuffing caterpillars up our noses. I mean what we've seen in anime. Why these young girls are depicted as sexual objects, or why someone such as Rei is favored over someone like Asuka. It's something that while uncomfortable is something worth discussing in some way.

One thing that enhances her image among fans is all the merchandise...like the figurines that have Pajama Rei, Bikini Rei, School Swimsuit Rei, and a whole bunch of others that I don't recall or don't want to recall. If you haven't seen Evangelion and you happen to pass by a dealer's table at a convention and see all the Rei and Asuka merch, you'd think that they were characters in some cute fanservicey comedy. Smiling, striking poses, showing skin...whatever the product, chances are it doesn't show Rei in the same cold/unemotional way that she actually is in the series. |

Personally, I find seeing Rei as a sex symbol as much better than other horrors, heh. First, I agree that for me, Misato > Asuka > Rei. Anyway this is a quote from an english teacher in Japan(American) that decided to rent a japanese porn video. What a horrible mistake.
WG is Wheelchair Girl lol. Apparently she got mad at Ai or someone earlier and threw herself off a building and broke/crippled her legs. Big Sis is a person that helped WG in the hospital, I think. It keeps getting worse and worse. Overall, I've heard of some pretty disgusting fetishes. This video is nothing compared to them. And of course, disgusting being a "in the eye of the beholder" type deal because someone doesn't feel them to be disgusting obviously. Seeing Rei as sexy is a lot more normal I think; though I've never understood why she alone is so popular. Perhaps the others are right just because she is that cold emotionless "doll". |
