Also in some sad news, it appears that Bob Magruder, voice actor for the Funimation dub of Fairy Tail, serving as the the narrator and voice of Igneel, has passed away.

I've been finding the arc pretty fun and hilarious myself. Who cares about Cancer being gay when you have Grey dancing like a machine. Levy and Capricorn was cute and Lucy and Virgo was just pure wonderful fanservice. It's been pretty amusing so far, even if it's fairly lighthearted.

Just because they took a year off doesn't mean they never have to do filler again. The reason they took a hiatus is because they didn't wanna put filler in the middle of the Grand Magic Games. The studio would much rather do filler then hiatus cause they still make money, but they had no choice but to put it on hiatus at the time. Anyway, the filler arc will be ending soon and at least we get some omake episodes (which are technically canon) |

My condolences to his family/friends. I liked hearing the Narrator (The Japanese Igneel/Fairy Tail Narrator is also the 3rd Hokage in Shippuden). |

I doubt if a year was going to be long enough, realistically. Bleach basically alternated between filler and manga-based seasons and Naruto's infamous filler wasn't enough to stop Shipuuden from needing a decent amount of filler. At least they did make the decision to go on hiatus rather than do a mid-arc filler. Those always come off as super awkward since they require the viewer to play along whatever the filler is about while wondering when they'll get back to the story. |

What? Oh my god, no way. We were just recovering in the wake of Christine Cavanaugh's passing. Now Bob Magruder is gone too? Unbelievable... :( |
