Basically none of what you just said is true. CG animation is, on the whole, more expensive to produce - especially up front, since you need pretty high end work stations and software to actually animate on the scale of a full TV or film production. And as any artist who has ever tried to make the move from traditional animation to 3D, it most definitely doesn't require less proficiency to do right. It simply requires a different knowledge and skill set because, despite both being animation, they are vastly different mediums. In the same way Stop Motion is animation, but takes a totally different kind of skill and process to create.

As for the assertion that 3DCG is a last-resort for struggling productions - nope. That wouldn't be an option in most cases because most of these smaller studios pumping out shows don't have any in-house CG animation teams or specialists. Like I said, setting up a CG team takes a good amount of prior investment. So if a show is going to need 3D elements, said elements are typically outsourced to a CG studio. The reason they often look so clunky is because, well, you're trying to merge two completely different styles of animation and without a ton of work and coordination there will be visible seams. It's definitely possible - a lot of recent BONES productions have incorporated some remarkably well-blended CG elements. But most productions are on a razor thin schedule and there just isn't time for it.

My bad, I guess I won't talk next time about topics I barely have any knowledge about. Embarassed But I won't delete my post because the internet remembers anyway.

I've actually read a bunch of the Parallel World Pharmacy manga, and I personally feel like the first episode might not give the best impression of what the show overall will be like. Wait until at least episode 2 to make a judgement. I haven't watched/read the other pharmacy isekai shows, so I don't know if it's typical or not, but Parallel World Pharmacy has a super generic start, but I get the impression the generic start is because the author really just wants to go on and on about real life pharmaceuticals to treat real life illnesses, and the setting is more a means to an end.

I like it because it kinda falls into a very specific sub genre I really like, which is a person gets transported someplace that is technologically less advanced, and so they reinvent stuff. Think like Doctor Stone and Ascendence of a Bookworm (to some extent.) Also you might learn some random stuff about medicine.

I'll note that the manga also has quite a bit of fanservice, but the first episode at least seems to be mostly leaving that out.

ofc , doing in house high quality 3d cg would be more expensive.

but outsourcing some cheap 3d animation to a studio specializes in that is cheap. both options are available , the cheap studio can be using some cheap workstations from a. decade ago and only use the one good station for rendering,.or as we saw 8n kumo, disable the textures and render whatever comes out.

Overlord IV

Silly me for thinking hey only two volumes, the pacing will be nice and easy, but then the 2nd episode said Nope- talk about truncated scenes.

Going by Season IV's spoiler laden opener, events of Volume 14 are being moved ahead and adapted along with Vol 10 & Vol 11.

Preview guide is missing from the front page (and the sidebar), on the other hand, the article about the live action Rent-A-Girlfriend is being shown twice.

It drops down when no new shows are added. If they add more reviews (I still have a slight issue that this is called a "preview" guide) are added, it resets the article as "new" again and it will move up again (as it just did with Orient S2).

Yes, it drops down and disappears. Have to use the Talkback forums to find it.

For me Netflix says “new episode coming Wednesday” for Isekai Ojisan. Not sure if that means the first English-subbed episode will air within hours or next week.

Speaking of the Tokyo Mew Mew reboot, I hope it gets the dub. It's the only way to rectify 4Kids' past mistakes.

Netflix seems to release delayed-weekly episodes early in the morning (for example, Komi is always out early on Wednesday), so this is likely saying it will be released next week, as it had stated previously. There is technically less than a week to go, so it now says Wednesday instead of the 20th.

Loved the first episodes of Shine Post and Call of the Night. The character design and animation in Shine Post was absolutely amazing.

Your forum post for the upcoming Daily Streaming poll. It launches tomorrow (July 15) at 9am ET.

animenewsnetwork.com/survey/928/

This season was really weird timing wise, as we still have some heavy-hitters coming in late.

If a show hasn't premiered by Friday but is voted into Daily Streaming, the reviews will start with episode one. If it is not voted into Daily Streaming, we'll put it in Preview Guide. Have fun voting for your favs!

Man, this season is rather empty for me. Not terrible, really: I can go back to stuff in the last few seasons that slipped off my plate.

Not much to say about Devil is a Part-Timer: the face game is reasonably strong, and its mostly a "reacquainting" episode. The hook has potential though.

The slightly annoying thing is that while there isn't really isn't anything I love (maybe Made in Abyss) there are multiple shows that simply "aren't bad" that I might as well watch.
Meh... Isekai with slimes... magic schools... many cute waifus.

I should probably go back and watch Birdie Wing and Ya Boy Kongming!... but Yet Another OP MC Kicking Ass Without Breaking a Sweat is NEW!
