I'm very curious to learn how sola and Shigofumi got into Section 23's hands, especially since sola was just released last Sept. by Bandai Ent. Those licenses and true tears seemed to have a odd time getting released here, so I wonder if this is all something on the licensor's side of things. On the other hand, if a Bandai Visual title like Shigofumi could get picked up (though GENCO, too, was a producer here and on a good number of ADV's former shows), then I also wonder what that says about other BV titles...

Nice to hear about Tytania, though, which seemed pretty good from the first two episodes I saw.

What, most of their stuff is perfectly prices and well worth the cash too. I mean $10 more and you have a dub to a show. What is there not to like?

The video quality on a majority of their DVDs? That's something to abhor.

Why do I feel that this news is rather ominous in concern to Bandai?

I too as thinking the same thing as well. Bluntly speaking, Bandai has lost a ton of money in the last two years. First Lucky Star didn't sell well, the OVA didn't sell well and Haruhi sales aren't nearly as high as the company wanted to be. In addition, Bandai is really angered some people by canceling the special addition of volume six (also the final volume) of Lucky Star and because of Haruhi.

It's safe to say Bandai isn't doing as well as they did years ago. So the likelihood of Bandai going subtitle only soon is quite prevalent.

Which may be good for some people, but is not good in the long run though.

I have to agree with Rinkwolf. People wanted their anime cheaper and cheaper. Having to compete with free, I think Funimation does do a good job in getting dubbed anime out. I am not that thrilled either with (for example) Spice and Wolf with seven episodes on one disk. HOWEVER, the quality is not horrific compared to what DVD qualtiy was when the industry started. Try not to be TOO spoiled kiddies. The cake and eat it too mentality is getting old.

It is good to see Sentai picking up more titles. For me, having subtitled shows is second best. I will still purchase shows that I like even with subtitle only.

Sentai was running about 13 episodes for about $39 MSRP. It looks like they are going up to $49. Gintama part 1 is $39 compared to part 2 which is $49. That is something disheartening. Not to mention that they ALSO put over 4 episodes on one DVD like Funimation.

Eh, I heard Tytania was a bit of a train wreck so I'm a bit cautious. Still, it's at least nice to see more stuff licensed that is at least potentially interesting to me.

Somebody actually licensed Tytania? TYTANIA?!

Oh god, oh god, my sides are hurting from laughing.

What a failure of a show that was.

I suspect Bandai is going out of business. Bang Zoom's comment is real? I may be wrong Question

I think I should see more space opera anime to get into the mood of Tytania.

To get in the mood for Tytania, you should slam your head against the wall until you can no longer feel pain.
