Wow, this was a big shock to wake up to in the morning Shocked .

As someone who really enjoyed High School of the Dead, it's not only sad that to lose some hope for any continuation of that story, but it's tragic to lose the life of such a talented Mangaka Crying or Very sad .

RIP Sato-san. My payers go out to your family and loved ones Sad .

I hope Inazuma and Sato's family find a way to continue his works with Triange X and HOTD.

He wasn't involved in Triage X. Daisuke Sato was the author of HSotD. Shouji Sato is the artist of HSotD and the author/artist of Triage X.

This finally answers a question thats been asked by HOTD fans for over 4 years. Hiatus due to poor health. Now a question is being asked. Will Shouji find a way to continue it or will it stay dead?

Wow this knocked for a loop! Life truly is but a vapor I had friends that love High School of The Dead and where still waiting for a new chapter still 52 is way too young to die.

I heard somewhere that the reason for the manga's hiatus was the creator's health, but I didn't expect him to actually pass away and leave the story unfinished!

R.I.P. You won't be forgotten.

This brings up an interesting question for Answerman. Why do manga writers always dance around the reason for hiatuses? It feels like they'll get less backlash from "I'm sick/dying and want to spend my possibly final months with my family" than they would from "Going on indefinite hiatus for years, kthxbye."

I dunno. I might be missing something.

My sincerest condolences to Satō-sensei's family, friends, and colleagues. I still fondly remember the anime adaptation of HoTD, for all its trashiness. I was secretly hoping for more...

Seeing how popular it is, HOTD could be taken up by another mangaka. In spite of that, let's just pray that Mr. Sato rests in peace.
it's possible like what happened the Familiar of Zero for example (even though that's a light novel and not a manga but you get the idea) either way RIP Daisuke Sato.
