Oh it definetly helps. Your range of series that you discover and like even if they're not licensed becomes even greater by being able to read the Japanese so that you know what's going on.

Black Lagoon (1-8)
Bleach (1-29)
Chobits (1-8 Complete)
Claymore (1-15)
Code Geass: Lulouche of the Rebellion (1,2, 4)
Code Geass: Suzaku of the Counterattack (1)
Dogs: Bullets and Carnage (0-2)
Eureka 7 (1, 2, 4, and 5)
Fate/Stay Night (1-5)
Gunslinger Girl (1-6)
Hellsing (1-9)
Higurashi-When They Cry (1-5)
Kare Kano (1-21 Complete)
King of Thorn (1-6 Complete)
Lunar Legend Tsukihime (1-6)
Midori Days (1-8 Complete)
Mobile Suit Gundam Wing: Episode Zero
Mobile Suit Gundam: Ecole du Ciel (1-6)
My-HIME (1-5 Complete)
Neon Genesis Evantellion: Angelic Days (1-6 Complete)
Planetes (1-4.5 Complete)
Princess Resurrection (1-3)
Rurouni Kenshin (8)
Scryed (1-5 Complete)
Seikai Trilogy (1-3 Complete)
Suzuka (1-12)
Yu Yu Hakusho (1-10)

[RANT]If you want to know my favorites, they're (naturally Rolling Eyes ) the ones on there that come out the most excruciatingly-painfully-"I-forgot-everything-in-the-last-volume-because-it's-been-a- decade"-slowest of the lot. [/RANT] Anime cry Evil or Very Mad

Hey, shounen manga can be good too! It's just that many of the good ones are often overlooked in favor of the 1-2 series that are extremely popular at the moment. Firefighter Daigo certainly did not deserve those poor sales.

I read a bunch of shounen series, Naruto and Bleach included. Why? Because it's fun.

Not that Bleach and Naruto are part of the awesome part of my collection. They're just kinda there.

Hmm, I think I still have less than a hundred manga but it should be something around that. Next time I'll count. Currently with me I have 17 manga, about half of which are being loaned out to various people (the stuff I bring with me is usually determined by who wants to read what, it's not doing itself any good just sitting in my room by itself after all).

Wow, someone brought this thread back.

I found my old post. Last time I posted here was a year and a half ago. Back then I had 102 books. I was so exited about reaching triple digits. Now I have 275. I don't know how this happened.

I ran out of shelf space long ago. Even with 40+ books out on loan I also have over 100 anime DVDs, every issue of Yen Plus, and about four or five years worth of Shonen Jump to store. I have to stash some in my dresser. I set aside one drawer (out of six) for my stuff and now it's full, so I'm running out of space for my books AND my clothes Anime cry .

Hello!

I'm relatively new as I've been reading/buying for ~3-5 years, off-on then more often than I'd like!

I used to have a collection that would fit an ~2 large bookcases with nothing but manga books! Whatever I can't fit goes on a shelf!

Recently, I had to give some away to the local library (which refuses to give a donation acceptance letter!!!) so my collection is about halved but started to buy the newer titles now (*sigh*).

There goes my money! At least the town's library has a "better" manga collection =Smile

Hmm I'm not really sure about the exact number of books I have but I've collected about 16 or so complete (or close to complete) series which are each at least 10-15 volumes long and a portion of about 10 other series. What complicates things more is I recently combined my manga collection with my roomate's to fill a huge bookcase in our living room. I also still have some older series still in storage at my parents' house so I'm sure I'm forgetting about a few things. I wish I could bring myself to part with some of them but I can't.
