KOSAIKON AND ZENTRANCON ANNOUNCE PLANS TO MERGE The combined organizations plan to create Philadelphia's first true anime convention. PHILADELPHIA, PA - February 28, 2006 - Kosaikon and Zentrancon announced today that they will be merging their organizations to create Zenkaikon, Philadelphia's first true anime convention. The decision to merge was originally proposed because both organizations wanted to strengthen and grow. Kosaikon and Zentrancon easily recognized that they each had a committed, experienced, and talented staff, and a combined effort would secure the anime scene in Philadelphia. Zenkaikon will be held October 28, 2006 at the Valley Forge Scanticon Hotel & Conference Center. The officers hope that they will put on an enjoyable and unique convention only a city of independence and brotherly love can offer. ABOUT KOSAIKON: Kosaikon held its first event in early 2003, where 75 individuals came together to celebrate their interest in anime. Over the next 3 years, it grew to over 400 attendees and gained popularity throughout the East Coast. ABOUT ZENTRANCON: Zentrancon's debut convention took place in October 2005. Over 350 people came to Philadelphia to watch anime and science fiction screenings, meet celebrity guests, and participate in video gaming. Zenkaikon 2006 Preregistration is now open!
This is the print out form to use for mail in registrations.We will also be using online registration as well, which we expect to be up in the next two weeks or so. That's GREAT news! I'm right in Philadelphia and last year Zentrancon was held only 6 blocks from where I live. I was planning on going, however my brother ruined my plans (because he's a moron, long story). A lot of the other conventions are too far for me to go to, so having one in Philadelphia is great!
