Late Night! The Genius Bakabon Anime Dreams Up Crappiest Dating Sim

Late night! The Genius Bakabon comedy anime took on the world of otome games when Bakabon's father introduced the concept of a crappy dating sim, literally, in the anime's fourth episode. The concept centered on attractive male characters that were also anthropomorphisized versions of different turds. The series than took the concept a step further in episode 10 by airing a fake announcement for the game and introducing its characters and cast.
The in-universe game is titled Unko Danshi: Dokidoki Share House (lit. Poop Boys: Heart-Pounding Share House) and stars six characters that you might find in your toilet. Normal Poo is voiced by Takahiro Sakurai, Toshiyuki Morikawa voiced Hard Poo, Junji Tachibana voiced the Swirly Poo Twins, Miyu Irino voiced the unfortunate Diarrhetic Poo, and Arata Furuta voiced Barium Poo. His white hair and pale complexion represent the discoloration barium leaves behind. It's usually taken prior to x-rays of the digestive system.
Late night! The Genius Bakabon premiered on July 10. The series is the franchise's first television anime in 18 years. The original family comedy manga by Fujio Akatsuka centers on an idiotic boy and his father. Akatsuka launched the Tensai Bakabon manga series in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine in 1967. The manga already inspired four television anime series between 1971 and 2000, as well as a full-length anime film in 2015 titled Tensai Bakavon ~Yomigaeru Flanders no Inu~.
