posted on by Joanna Cayanan
The official YouTube channel for The Quintessential Quintuplets franchise started streaming on Friday the opening anime video for Gotōbun no Princess: Gensō to Shinen to Mahō Gakuin (The Quintessential Princesses: Fantasy, the Abyss, and a Magic Academy), the fourth console game for the franchise. The video features the game's theme song "Ashita e" (To Tomorrow) performed by the Nakano quintuplets.
The game's limited edition and special box, which has the "Original Anime Blu-ray Disc" contains the opening anime, including its creditless version, produced by Seven Arcs. The limited edition and special box also include 10 minutes original animation and a 45-minute visual drama featuring Fūtarō Uesugi and the Nakano quintuplets' sleepover party.

The game imagines protagonist Fūtarō Uesugi and the Nakano quintuplets in a fantasy world. In the game's story, Uesugi is a student at a magic academy, and takes a job as a private tutor to supplement his meager income. He becomes a tutor to quintuplets who are daughters of a noble family that serve the monarchy.
MAGES. has so far developed all games for the franchise, including the first three console games for the franchise. The Quintessential Quintuplets: Memories of a Quintessential Summer (Gotōbun no Hanayome ~Natsu no Omoide mo Gotōbun~), the first visual novel for the franchise, launched in Japan for PS4 and Switch in March 2021.
The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Memories Spent With You (Eiga Gotōbun no Hanayome ~Kimi to Sugoshita Itsutsu no Omoide~), the second visual novel, launched for PS4 and Switch in June 2022. The game is an adaptation of the adaptation of the Eiga Gotōbun no Hanayome (The Quintessential Quintuplets the Movie) sequel anime film.
Spike Chunsoft released the first two games in English in May 2024 for the PS4, Switch, and PC via Steam.
Gotōbun no Hanayome: Kanojo to Kawasu Itsutsu no Yakusoku (The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Promises Exchanged With Five Girls), MAGES.' third original console game in the franchise, released in September 2023 for PS4 and Switch.
MAGES. similarly developed the Gotōbun no Hanayome: Goto Pazu Story game. Unlike the three visual novels, the game is a console version of the Gotōbun no Hanayome: Itsutsugo-chan wa Puzzle wo Gotōbun Dekinai. smartphone game. The smartphone game launched in October 2020 and it will end its service on June 30.
The console version contains only the fully voiced story part of the smartphone game. The console version launched in June 2023 for PS4 and Switch. Gotōbun no Hanayome: Goto Pazu Story 2nd, the second game in the series, launched for PS4 and Switch in October 2024. The second game contains the story from the second season of the anime, and the second year of the original smartphone game.
Negi Haruba launched the original manga in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine in August 2017, and ended the series in February 2020.
