posted on by Egan Loo

Appleseed film director Shinji Aramaki will return to the Kawaii Kon convention at Honolulu's Hawaii Convention Center from April 16 to 18. He will be accompanied by Daisuke Kishio, a prolific voice actor who can be heard in Vampire Knight and dozens of anime and game titles.

Besides, Appleseed, Aramaki also directed MADOX-01 and the Appleseed: Ex Machina film sequel based on Masamune Shirow's manga. He co-created the original story of Megazone 23 and contributed to the designs in Genesis Climber Mospeada, Bubblegum Crisis, Gasaraki, the 2003 Astro Boy series, s-CRY-ed, Witch Hunter Robin, Wolf's Rain, Fullmetal Alchemist, and Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow. In his early years, he contributed to the designs of Takara's Microchange toys (later exported under Hasbro's Transformers line as Soundwave, the Mini-Cassettes, Reflector, and Perceptor) and Kenner's MASK line.

More recently, Aramaki directed and designed the Viper's Creed television anime series which premiered last January. Like several of his works, Viper's Creed includes transforming robotic motorcycles and a futuristic paramilitary setting. He is also one of the creative supervisors on the Japanese animated Halo Legends anthology and the director of "The Package" segment in the anthology. Aramaki first came to Kawaii Kon last year.

Kishio has voiced roles in over 60 anime titles, including Vampire Knight's Kaname Kuran, Rosario + Vampire's Tsukune Aono, and Bleach's Luppi and Hinagiku. He was also Cody in the Super Street Fighter IV videogame and the Japanese dubbed voice of Remy in Pixar's Ratatouille.
