Rina Satou Joins Heavy Object TV Anime Cast

Satou plays Lendy Farolito in series with Funimation broadcast dub

The official website for the television anime of Kazuma Kamachi's (A Certain Magical Index) Heavy Object light novel series announced on Friday that Rina Satō (Sailor Moon Crystal's Rei, Knights of Sidonia's Numi) is joining the cast as Lendy Farolito.

Lendy is a commander of the Information Alliance military, and her rank is first lieutenant. Although she is a young soldier, she works her way up through the ranks in the field. She is a go-getter who has expertise in military operations, information warfare, and political strategy. She sometimes argues with Frolaytia.

The anime premiered in Japan on October 3, and Funimation is streaming the series as it airs in Japan. Funimation's broadcast dub of the series premiered on Friday.

Funimation describes the story:

In the future, warfare has been revolutionized by the invention of mechanical weapons called “Objects.” These Objects are overwhelmingly powerful, rendering traditional weapons like guns, tanks and fighter jets completely useless. Qwenthur is an un-athletic, but smart soldier who aims to work as an Object mechanic. Stationed at an Alaskan Object base, he meets Milinda, a stoic but beautiful Elite Soldier who pilots her own Object. As they learn to support each other in battle, Qwenthur begins to uncover the grim secret behind the Heavy Objects.

Takashi Watanabe (Shakugan no Shana, Freezing) is directing the anime at J.C. Staff (Toradora!, Kaichō wa Maid-sama!). Kazuma Kamachi (Toaru Majutsu no Index, Toaru Kagaku no Railgun) wrote the original story.
