The 34th issue of Kodansha's ITAN magazine revealed on October 7 that manga creator Sayaka Mogi is launching a new manga in the magazine's next issue. The magazine describes the manga as a "Japanese-style fantasy" centering on two mountain demon brothers who have different mothers, and are persecuted by other mountain demons. Mogi launched her horror manga Pupa in the inaugural issue of Comic Earth Star magazine in 2011, and ended it in December 2013. Earth Star Entertainment published five volumes for the manga. The manga inspired a 12-episode series of television anime shorts that premiered in January 2014.
Mogi ended her Switch Witch manga on July 26, and her Ao no Haha manga on May 25. She launched a new manga titled Nemureru Mori no Karon (Sleeping Charon) in Kodansha's Young Magazine in September 2014, and it is currently ongoing. Kodansha published the manga's second volume on July 20.
