Game slated for October 12 in Japan, January 23 in N. America/Europe

Square-Enix announced with a video on Tuesday that Tokyo RPG Factory's Lost Sphear game will launch in Japan for PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch on October 12. Additionally, the PlayStation Blog also announced that the game will ship in North America and Europe for PS4 on January 23, 2018. The game will also be available in the West on Switch and PC.

The trailer showcases the game's soundtrack, characters, and settings.

Players in North America and Europe who pre-order the digital edition through the PlayStation Store will receive a "Memoirs of the Moon" Dynamic Theme for the PS4, and the two music tracks "Market Town Marpennig" and "Town of Elgarthe." Physical editions for PS4 and Switch will be available only through the Square-Enix Online Store, and they will come with download codes for the "Town's Theme #1" and "Town's Theme #2" tracks.

The website's description of the game is as follows:

The next evolution in this new golden age of JRPG's arrives with LOST SPHEAR, bringing a fresh take on classic RPG gameplay! A young man, who suffered a phenomenon that he had never seen, faces an ominous power that threatens the fabric of reality. Awaken the power of Memory to restore what was lost! Muster different Memory and craft the world around you in a journey to save the world.

Tokyo RPG Factory previously developed the I Am Setsuna (Ikenie to Yuki no Setsuna) role-playing game. The game shipped in February 2016 for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in Japan, and last July for the PS4 and PC in the West. The game also received a Switch version in Japan that launched alongside the console on March 3.
