Third-person action game will also have multiplayer

This year's 29th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump magazine revealed on Thursday that Sui Ishida's Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re manga series will get a new third-person PlayStation 4 survival action game titled Tokyo Ghoul:re - Call to Exist.

The game will involve the stories of both the Tokyo Ghoul and Tokyo Ghoul:re manga, and will also have online multiplayer. The game is slated for this winter.

Funimation recently released the Tokyo Ghoul: Dark War smartphone game. Ishida's manga also inspired the 2017 Tokyo Ghoul:re Invoke smartphone game, the 2015 Tokyo Ghoul carnaval∫color smartphone game, and the 2015 Tokyo Ghoul Jail PlayStation Vita game.

Ishida serialized Tokyo Ghoul in Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump from 2011 to 2014, and is now serializing Tokyo Ghoul:re. The manga entered its final arc in February, and will end in July. Shueisha published the manga's 15th compiled volume on March 19 and will publish the 16th volume on July 19. Viz Media is releasing the sequel manga series in North America.

The first season of the Tokyo Ghoul:re anime premiered on April 3. Funimation is streaming the series with English subtitles. The company also released the anime's first eight episodes with an English dub alongside those episodes' premieres in Japan, before moving to a two-week delay on the ninth episode. The second season will premiere on October.
