MechatroWeGo Robot Toys Get Anime Tamago Project Anime
posted on by Jennifer Sherman
Kazushi Kobayashi announced on Friday that his MechatroWeGo robot toys are receiving an anime adaptation. The Association of Japanese Animations (AJA) also announced the project on Friday under the tentative title "Hello WeGo!" as one of four anime shorts that will be part of the coming year's "Anime Tamago" (formerly "Anime Mirai") project.
Ryouji Masuyama (Blend S, Gurren Lagann Parallel Works) is directing the anime at Wit Studio (After the Rain, Attack on Titan). Maiko Okada is serving as producer.
As in previous years of the "Anime Tamago" project, the anime shorts will train young animators on-the-job part of the Japanese government's Agency of Cultural Affairs' "Young Animator Training Project."
MechatroWeGo products include toys and plastic models. The product line also features items in collaboration with Hatsune Miku and the new Neon Genesis Evangelion anime films.
