Mix Anime Casts Mariya Ise, Kōtarō Nishiyama, Daichi Endō

Nobuaki Kanemitsu also adds role of dog Punch

The Twitter account for the television anime adaptation of Mitsuru Adachi's Mix baseball manga revealed three additional cast members on Friday. Mariya Ise will play Arisa Mita, Kōtarō Nishiyama will play Ryō Akai, and Daichi Endō will play Hiroki Mita. In addition, Nobuaki Kanemitsu, who also plays Tadashi Imakawa in the series, will play the dog Punch.

Funimation and Crunchyroll are both streaming the anime as it airs with subtitles. Funimation is also streaming the series with an English dub.

Crunchyroll describes the story:

A new generation steps up to the plate in a moving sequel to the 1985 baseball manga, Touch. Stepbrothers Touma and Suichirou are ace players on Meisei High School's baseball team, and thanks to them, the team may finally have a chance at returning to nationals. But little by little, a tragic legacy unfolds as the stepbrothers follow in their fathers' footsteps.

The anime premiered in Japan on April 6. Odahiro Watanabe (Soul Buster, Tokyo Ghoul:re) is directing the anime at OLM. Atsuhiro Tomioka (Ace Attorney both seasons, Inazuma Eleven, Pokémon XY & Z) is overseeing the series scripts, and scriptwriters include Tatsuto Higuchi, Kenichi Yamada, Yoshifumi Fukushima, and Chinatsu Houjou. Takao Maki (Basilisk: The Ouka Ninja Scrolls, Laughing Under the Clouds) is designing the characters, and Norihito Sumitomo (Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Z Kai) is composing the music. sumika is performing the opening theme song "Equal," and Little Glee Monster are performing the ending song "Kimi ni Todoku Made."

Adachi launched the manga series in Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2012.
