Hinomaru Sumō Manga Gets Epilogue Chapter on Shonen Jump+

posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Main manga ended in Shonen Jump in July

This year's 44th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine announced on Monday that Kawada's Hinomaru Sumo manga will get an epilogue chapter on the Shonen Jump+ website and app on October 4. The magazine teased that the chapter will feature a wedding ceremony.

The manga ended its serialization in this year's 34th issue of Weekly Shonen Jump on July 22. The manga's 27th volume will ship on October 4, and the 28th and final volume will ship in December.

The manga inspired a 24-episode television anime series that premiered in October 2018. Funimation and Crunchyroll both streamed the series as it aired. Crunchyroll describes the series:

The intense fight for the dream of yokozuna has begun. A new student has joined Odachi High School's weak sumo club, the small boy Ushio Hinomaru! Although his physique seems ill-suited to a fighting sport where size and weight rule, Hinomaru! has an incredible dream. He and the weak sumo club will fight their way to the top! The intense battle of high school sumo has begun!

Kawada launched the manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in May 2014.
