posted on by Crystalyn Hodgkins
Anime NYC event will host dub cast at event on November 19-21

The Anime NYC convention announced on Friday that it is hosting the current U.S. English dub cast for the Lupin III franchise at its event on November 19-21, and revealed the main English dub cast members.

The cast, including the previously announced Richard Epcar as Daisuke Jigen, includes:

TMS Entertainment is screening the English dub of the first episode of Lupin III Part 1 along with the first two episodes of the Lupin the 3rd Part 6 television anime series in Japanese with English subtitles from October 24-28 in select U.S. theaters.

Lupin the 3rd Part 6 premiered on the NTV channel in Japan on October 9 at 24:55 (effectively, October 10 at 12:55 a.m.), and it is also running on NTV's affiliates as well as on Hulu and other streaming services in Japan. Sentai Filmworks licensed the new series for home video and streaming in North America, Australia, New Zealand, Scandinavian countries, and all Nordic Countries.

Sentai Filmworks describes the story of the new anime:

Gentleman thief Lupin III is back and ready for his next caper— unless legendary sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, has anything to say about it! When Holmes' longtime partner, Dr. Watson, is murdered, none other than Lupin tops the suspects list. With Holmes fast closing in, Lupin must prove his innocence and bring a shadowy organization called The Raven to heel if he wants to live to steal another day.

The new series centers around two keywords, with "mystery" being the keyword of the "first cours" (quarter of a year).

The new season commemorates the original anime's 50th anniversary.
