Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out Anime Film Opens in Malaysia on September 7

Malaysian cinema chain GSC Movies began streaming an English-subtitled trailer on Thursday for Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out, the first of two sequel anime films based on Hajime Kamoshida's Seishun Buta Yarō light novel series. The trailer revealed that Odex will begin screening the film in Malaysia on September 7.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out opened in Japan on June 23. It earned 175,648,924 yen (about US$1.28 million) and sold 118,108 tickets in its first three days.
The sequel anime project adapts the eighth and ninth novels in the franchise: Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out and Rascal Does Not Dream of a Knapsack Kid. The latter film will open in Japan on December 1.
Sōichi Masui returned to direct the project at CloverWorks. Masahiro Yokotani is also back for composition and scripts, and Satomi Tamura returned as the character designer. The first film's theme song is a solo version of the earlier television anime's "Fukashigi no Karte" (Mysterious Chart) song by Kaede Azusagawa (as voiced by Yurika Kubo).
The returning cast includes:

- Asami Seto as Mai Sakurajima
- Yurika Kubo as Kaede Azusagawa
- Nao Tōyama as Tome Koga
- Atsumi Tanezaki as Rio Futaba
- Maaya Uchida as Nodoka Toyohama
- Inori Minase as Shōko Makinohara
Seishun Buta Yarō wa Bunny Girl-senpai no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai), the television anime based on the light novel series, premiered in Japan in October 2018 and aired for 13 episodes. Aniplus-Asia aired a simulcast of the anime as it aired in Japan.
Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl (Seishun Buta Yarō wa Yume-Miru Shōjo no Yume wo Minai), the anime film that adapts the the sixth and seventh light novel volumes in the franchise, opened in Japan in June 2019. Aniplus-Asia screened the film in many territories in Southeast Asia.
