Arata Kawabata Launches Manga Spinoff of Nihon Tōitsu Live-Action Video Series

The October issue of Akita Shoten's Monthly Princess magazine revealed last Friday that manga creator Arata Kawabata is launching a gourmet manga spinoff of the live-action Nihon Tōitsu original video series titled Nomi Kui Dōraku ~Nihon Tōitsu~ (The Vice of Eating and Drinking ~Japan Unification~) in the magazine's next issue on October 6.

Yasukaze Motomiya, who plays one of the show's main characters, is supervising the manga. The original video series is a yakuza crime series about two individuals who join Japan's largest yakuza organization, and seek to unify all yakuza organizations in Japan.
Akira Wao and Sasakisa are also launching new manga in the next issue. Wao's manga is titled Bakugyaru, while Sasakisa's manga is titled Aoki Balkanalia.
Yen Press licensed Kawabata's Do You Like the Nerdy Nurse? (Hokenshitsu no Otaku Onee-san wa Suki desu ka?) manga for English publication in September 2020.
Kawabata launched a manga adaptation of Mitsuru Yūki's Onmyōji, Abe no Seimei novel series in Monthly Princess in February 2020, and ended it in July 2024.
