Not a bad dub at all, but I find myself preferring the UK dub trailer. Hopefully when Disney releases it here, they will have both English dubs to choose. Or if not, I'll just import the UK release.

Dub sounds pretty decent actually. Way better than say...Billy Bob Thornton (face palm) in Princess Mononoke or Shia LaBeouf (yuck!) in Nausicaa.

I haven't seen the film yet. Been waiting for the localized release... but tell me... did that trailer basically spoil the entire film?

The UK dub is a million times better IMO. The voices don't fit at all with anybody here. The 12 year old boy sounds way too old for his age the US dub and it kinda bugs me. :/ As you can probably guess, I'm gonna stick with the UK dub.

I discovered I've been saying her name wrong all this time.
I always assumed it was "a-RYE-etty" (so that it rhymes with variety),
but it's "airy-ETTY" according to the U.S. dub.

lol, that's what I was thinking. The trailer is pretty much the cliff notes version of the movie. The trailer has me pumped to see the movie anyway despite how much they already spoiled. I'm really looking forward to seeing another Ghibli movie especially considering how Ponyo left me cold. I don't think there is a single Ghibli movie I enjoyed less than Ponyo. As for the voices, it was a bit jarring at first because I listened to some of the clips from the UK release a couple months back and the voices sound a bit different for the US release, but the acting seems decent enough so it'll probably grow on me. Here's hoping it's released in a theater in Pittsburgh.

people saying this dub is decent obviously haven't seen what the UK dub is like. its 10 times better then this disney/pixar derived crap. also, whats up with the music? thats not the Japanese song.
Oh, and dont watch the trailer if you want to see the film. its basically the whole film in under 3 minutes.

Step off the self-righteous anger train please. That's Jónsi, solo artist and Sigor Ros guitarist/vocalist. He is awesome. Trailers use outside music all the time. I was happy to hear his music pop up.
Haven't seen the UK dub yet, but looking forward to seeing both. I liked this movie -- it's no Miyazaki or Takahata, but I'd put it between The Cat Returns and Whisper of the Heart in the Ghibli catalog.

jsevakis: I liked the Cat Returns more than Whisper of the Heart.

I liked the song in the trailer, I'd be willing to buy an album from either of those artists.
