Thanks for that info. Had a look, started in 2000 and finished in '13. Wow.

I've heard good things about the series, I've just not looked too much into it (obviously, just discovering that it deals with vamps today).

Even though short, I assume that it tells a complete story?

Yes, I'd assume so (the final 4th volume has yet to be released in English). As an established creator, she had the choice to return to this series or simply let it go and move on to new ideas, so I take her returning to it as a commitment to bring the story to its proper conclusion (and there weren't THAT many loose threads started in the first two books that would need resolution).

There is a jump—there'd have to be—in the art style and writing between books 2 and 3, but I found it to be much for the better—I enjoyed the first two when I read them years ago, but when I got the newly released v3 I found it fascinating to see clearly how Bisco Hatori has grown as an artist and writer, and how much more effectively she can convey the themes and ideas she wants to, using the same characters and story setup. So I think the series is worth picking up both on its own story merits and as a rather unique illustration of creator growth.

They've rereleased volumes 1-2 as an omnibus edition so that shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of.
