Oh, yay! Extra motivation to see this show.
What are people's opinions on just starting the show at the second season ?

Series 2 follows on from and expands on the first series quite closely. It isn't the most plot-heavy show, but there are a lot of subtleties, call-backs and development that won't make sense if you haven't seen it from the beginning. I don't remember it having much exposition to recap things, either, unless they reword the English dub to be more of an introduction.

Yeah, you definitely should watch the first season, it would make better sense to.
I reallly really hope that they bring it out.
I'll still order this LE version, at the very least.

Y'all really should see just how salty some people on Twitter and Tumblr (especially Tumblr) are regarding the English dub.

getting Tatum to be the script writer wasn't exactly the best idea. Though it is pretty funny that he seems to think modern day teenagers simultaneously use dude and bro frequently and have a very large vocabulary. He really ought to stick to voice acting

Yep, count me as the person that thinks that J. Michael Tatum should stay away from scriptwriting...forever. His Shakespearean theme and the excessive use of "dude" and "bro" have really steered the English version into a colossal trainwreck.
However, I don't want him gone, as he is a great actor; thus, I think Mr. Tatum should just stick to seiyuu work.
