Easy to fix, takes about 1 hour to learn and 4 hours get decent. Becoming good, like anything else, takes time and practice.

not trying to be knit-picky or anything, but the AE86 in the Anime was a 1985 model and had brown/burgundy interior. but that car is still has a nice Initial D style to it and is priced lower than I would have thought. he should have no problem getting what he's asking.

That's so...cute. But a little odd, too.

On a tangent, I'm not sure but I think $6500 would've been about how much a regular Celica cost in 1986. (Must check game show sources)

hehe, it's a specialty market car. blue book means nothing. and the people who are in the market for a car like this don't care about AC, and understand that track prepped cars don't tend to have AC. that's like saying "well, it's setup for a race duty, but not having back seats will really hurt it's value". It was just something of note that I pulled out of my you-know-what.

Remember, I'm saying that $6500 could get you a regular Celica in 1986. This tricked-out version (oh, the punning!) would probably be in 5-figure territory in '86.

Jerry no longer works with Bandai and his reason for living is still unknown (well to me that is).

AE86 is basically a Corolla here in the states. Not sure why you brought up celica.

The AE86 is really popular in the race/drifting scene, so I'm pretty sure someone will snatch it up right away for that price.

That would be why it's called a "private life." Smile

Yeah, I told him he should have auctionned it.

Can someone put a tracking device on the car?
I want to hunt it down some day and bug the next owner about buying it from him/her. Me want. Anime hyper

the funny thing about this is its not really a good drifting car (im not actually sure not that much of a car fan gotta ask my bro about it) but thanks to initial d you usually see one of these "mean machines" in race/drifting events. if intial d wasn't created you won't be seeing these in racing tracks (that or if japanese drivers wheren't using these in drifting compition)

I don't know... quite literally.

I've driven a track prepared corolla on the track (at a recent track day) and the thing is a joy to drive with the high revving 4AG engine and the overall light weight. But to be honest it didn't feel like a car I'd like to drift in, too much weight in front. That being said, I didn't try to drift in it, and I'm not skilled at drifting at all (and the owner of the AE86 was in my STi at the time who knows what he'd do to my car if I wrecked his).

However in the current Formula D chapionship, Taka Aono came in 7th in his AE86 this year. He was able to consistenly challenge much more powerful and expensive cars in the hands of high caliber drivers like Rhys Millen (Son of Rod Millen).

Unquestionably Initial D has a lot to do with the popularity of the AE86, but it was a cult favorite before Initial D.

So... I don't know :-p

The Fujiwara Tofu car is actually a 1983 Toyota Corolla Sprinter Trueno.

Here is a 1985 Model:

Notice the difference in the back tail-lights?

Let's not forget he crashed his AE86 at one D1 Event.

Keiichi "Drift King" Tsuchiya would disagree.
