If this really just picks up where the first anime left things with someone else voicing Kanda, I'll probably spend so much time on being irritated that "enjoying" the arc becomes difficult. Enjoyment is probably the wrong word. Not exactly a whole lot of joy to be found here. I can understand that a female voice might not suit Allen anymore once he starts to look more mature, but the others... I'm still hoping until they announce the rest of the cast. I'm also quite curious who they're going to cast for Alma.

(I can kiss the old cast goodbye then.)
I see "new" and then "continuation", and for some reason my dumb brain gets scrambled. Isn't that not a 3rd Exorcist in the visual?
So it's going to be filler? Possible? I'll have to wait for detail.

When you consider her health issues and the large amount of supposed filler in the first anime, D.Gray-man is kind of intimidating to start. I figured with 200+ chapters in the bag, it could kind of blast through it in 50 episodes or such. |
Fillers are fine with me as long as we get more anime that will eventually make its way back to canon.

Why? The first anime was really great, with great animation and excellent music (the openings are awesome). It's true there is some boring fillers (episodes 14 to 18; 28 to 35; 40 to 50) but some of them were kind of nice (the Daisya Barry flashback, the General Yeegar arc or Allen's flashbacks about Cross).
Then the rest is very faithful to the manga, so no really need of a reboot.

Well, great news for the fans of the franchise. As for me, yeah, I don't think I'll end up watching 103 episodes in order to watch the continuation. Was kind of hoping I could just pick this one up, but doesn't seem to be the case.
Currently, my list of older stuff I want to see is too long...

Hopefully it will renew interest and she can get back on the manga, been waiting forever. Didn't I read it was finally coming out of hiatus awhile ago?
