I wish they would say what makes these threat letters so untraceable that they haven't found the guy yet.

Of course, it's just that I find it amusing how some in the fandom have been secretly celebrating the bad fortune befalling a fujoshi-favorite series and associated events, yet now that it might affect them, the outrage begins. I don't begrudge them, though. I guess people don't realize just how susceptible comiket would be to a chemical attack. If you've seen how crowded/disorganized it is once it gets going, there is no way they can possibly secure the area where even a small scale attack would affect thousands. Especially given that otaku carry all sorts of luggage to haul their porn away, sneaking in the chemicals he would need would be no problem. And given how the lines and wait time to get in is already unbearable, I doubt that putting in airport-grade security would go over very well... |

We all know there are those who don't care about other people's events, and they are happy as long as nobody bothers them. Then they will blame you instead of the criminal responsible when they are disrupted.
Hopefully, the Japanese police will take this seriously, if for nothing else the economic impact. I am sure the convention site doesn't want to lose its contractual fees. |

At this point it's probably more than one person, which is throwing the police off. Just think of how easy it would be to be a copycat criminal in this case. The original culprit is still on the loose, so all of the blame would be put on him. |

See, anywhere but japan and anonymous would have found this Joker already and given him what for.

It's been mentioned multiple times: the culprit claims to be a former classmate of the manga-ka with some kind of grudge. Nothing specifically about the series, just personal stuff against the creator, but still probably over something petty. |

hahah Indeed! But on a more serious note, anyone know why the person/group doingt this keeps it up? All seems pretty stupid to me. Is it still about that Basketball anime/manga series? I just hope they catch the guy(s?)/gal(s?) responsible soon. |

I would think any big event would get their share of threat letters all the time. Dunno why this particular one was publicized, unless it's credible and imminent.

And if they had ignored the warnings and this maniac had made good his threat, and a portion of those "couple thousand people" had died, "quite insiginificant" event or no? Skewed priorities much? |
