Now that's just unfair-- Among the Republican candidates, Mitt Romney was NOT a "cold-blooded zombie": He was your naive elementary-school little-brother who tagged along everywhere you went with your cooler friends, desperately wanting to copy everything they did so he could look older and cool, too: "C'mon, guyyys, can I be a real candidate too? Uh, 'I hate Mexicans!', 'Muslims are scary!', 'Look at that woman reporter, she's ugly!', can I top the polls now? " (Hey, I'm from Massachusetts, I can say this--We had to put up with him a lot longer than the rest of you folk did.) |

You all make it seem like Donald Trump was the one himself who said the comments. I doubt Trump even knows what otaku and anime even mean. This so called Republican Strategist has is not even apart of Donald Trump's campaign. Don't go make it seem like Donald Trump made these comments and that he agrees with this Rick Wilson fellow anyway. I'd like to keep my anime, politics, and I'll even throw in religion separate from each. It's like separation of Church and State but in this case it's separate from anime instead. I don't think I have ever seen anything politics related on this site anyway.

That's one of the most hilarious bits of news I've seen in a while (right up there with Palin thinking she's still relevent). It's a rare treat when you get to see politicians referencing anime lol, but at the rate Cruz is going with his sassy tweets he's getting there; and Hillary in an attempt to look 'hip'.

Well that was insulting... As if the anime community needed any more tarnishing! All those childless guys who get off on anime probably don't care about politics past Shimoneta anyway.

From the debate your parliament had the other day, the mood of Brits seemed more of ridicule than horror per se. Loved than debate btw. Best Parliament debate I've heard of. Not that they could have banned him from entering the country anyway, since the Home Secretary is the one that makes those decisions. Oh and I don't know if you know, but fag has a very different meaning than cigarette in American English (a derogatory term for a homosexual person, though outside of virulently anti gay people, no one really uses it anymore). Oh and speaking of Palin, she just endorsed Trump. I think that says a lot about both of them. Judging from the comments, it seems there aren't many Trump supports that read this site at least. Compared to other comment section from the websites for newspapers, there are way less Trump supporters and the few that are here are more civil than most in other comments sections or more the let the world burn time, rather than the racist type. That came out of nowhere. With that in mind, he's making a fool of himself as opposed to offending me.

People who aren't well versed with __chan and reddit forums won't get the connection between young alt-right and anime/manga/vgame right away. If you immerse yourself to these places in half a year the connection between alt-right and anime/manga/game will be so clear that you can't possibly miss it.
One thing's for sure... the 'Alt-Right' millennials on the internets really do watch anime. They see it as "pure" and not yet tainted by the "jew" and "gender" and "race" peddlers. They also see anime (and manga by extention) as the most free medium... where anything can be tailored to specific audience and make decent returns for a creator. ----- Only in Japan... I guess http://en.rocketnews24.com/2016/01/18/fan-made-nazi-anime-parody-goeppels-chan-appears-in-japan/ |

In contrast, those only familiar with the alt-right and not the general anime community will only see the latter as the former, which seems to be the mistake that Wilson made (and a lot of people in the media as well). He does seem to have the alt-right's candidate of choice correct at least. |

Honestly, I am not even sure what the difference between conservative and liberal even is anymore. It seems as if definitions have switched since the 90's. I've seen a lot of people identify as liberal, even on this site, bash and complain about anime being "regressive" and other terms that get thrown around a lot. Plus I swear "conservative" has become an umbrella term for anyone who disagrees with people. So that being said I wouldn't be surprised if most anime fans are considered conservative based on their views on things like sexuality and not finding anime to be reprehensible medium. When I was growing up liberal meant having open views on sex. This is why I generally stay out of politics, it just makes my head hurt. I would just like to say me not having a child is a conscious decision. I don't like kids, and I wouldn't feel right raising one in today's culture even if I found myself responsible for one. -Stuart Smith |

Are you kidding? Japan loves him! He's not racist; look, he has Japanese friends and people at his rallies all the time. And they're concerned about anime. They ask him "Trump, when are you going to make anime strong again?" That's what they tell him. What's Rubio gonna do? Keep spoonfeeding you this light novel stuff about magical schools? Trump's going to get them to make the best anime you've ever seen, and he's gonna get Japan to pay for it. No one knows more about anime than Trump. |

Poe's law in action (no relation to Edgar Allen). Poe's Law: Without a clear indicator of the author's intent, parodies of extreme views will be mistaken by some readers or viewers for sincere expressions of the parodied views. So @Otakuteen16 it was a joke and @Lili-hime probably make it clearer it is a joke. Unless it isn't a joke. |

Wilson could most definitely get his image ravaged by childless single men who masturbate to anime.

Kawamori should do an anime about a singer named Nikki Basara trying to infuse the Trump with a dose of good sense and understanding about the world. He should call the series Macross 7 : The Trump
