I'm surprised the reviewer didn't touch on the fact that cut could power machines, cause boy was that weird. |

Again, you are exaggerating the damage that a nuclear bomb is capable of. The firestorm caused by the robot's beam was actually more widespread than a Hiroshima-grade bomb would be capable of in a non-flammable environment like the concrete jungle of the series. Solid concrete buildings and heavily armoured vehicles are entirely capable of surviving the blastwave of a nuke just fine, as long as they're not right at the epicentre of the explosion. Also, the beam in question was not a laser, but your typical anime beam weapon that causes a giant fiery explosion at its target. That's decidedly not how lasers work, but arbitrary superscience beam weapons are fair game. |

How does "cut" make any sense to English speaking folks in this context..
Nuko is young and is just learning the girls' language,it's use of nuko makes sense as- nuko is slang for the standard word ねこ【猫】 neko. Nuko would be akin to kitty,kitten in English. The girls calling it a neko/cat,the young creature calling itself a nuko/kitty. cut tsk....Sigh episode 12 can not come too soon. |

I think I would've gone with "ket" instead of "cut." I might've been able to suss out the joke in that. |

Perhaps it was confusing without the context of my earlier post about nuclear bombs. The destruction at Hiroshima was so great because the city was primarily built of wood, and the original nuclear blast caused a vast firestorm that then engulfed most of the city not directly destroyed by the explosion. But the setting in this anime is steel and concrete, non-flammable materials. The firestorm seen did not consume the landscape, it only burned as long as either there was some fuel remaining in the ruins, or as long as the energy of the original blast could still feed it. This was a scifi weapon, rather than anything real, so continuing to burn in an environment without any actually flammable material is hardly an issue in and of itself. |

As you know,atomic bombs(such as Little Boy & Fat Man) measure their destructive force in kilotons.Whereas thermonuclear weapons measure their destructive force in megatons. (kiloton (of TNT) is a unit of energy equal to 4.184 terajoules) (megaton (of TNT) is a unit of energy equal to 4.184 petajoules) Little Boy,estimated yields range from 13 to 16 kilotons. Fat Mat considered yield 21 kilotons. The first deployed US thermonuclear weapon,the Mk 14,had a 5.5 megaton yield. The current B83 is a 'variable yield' thermonuclear bomb,capable of being "dialed" up to yield 1.2 megatons. The largest built&deployed US thermonuclear weapon was the Mk 17 with it's 15 megaton yield. Atomic and thermonuclear weapons,in general,should be detonated above the hypocenter,ranging from 100 to 1000 meters. Airbursts maximize these weapons; potential and believe it not reduce radioactive fallout. The flatter the terrain the "better" the results,as contours(hills,valleys,etc) can reduce the effects of the blastwave.shockwave and fireball. Now as far as the fantasy-futuristic world we are enjoying reading(and now watching),the show is all about the reader's/viewer's perceptions of events and of the setting. Will say folks are overlooking that a nuko/kitty(dough-weasel) powered-up a fusion powered giant,semi-autonomous,robot.One loaded with weapon and sensor systems and a Death Star like laser beam of doom. Yuu only got off a snap-shot,seemed that the longer she held onto the trigger,the longer the beam would fire. (But I was more happy to see a T-34 model 1943 used as a shower,and even more for the porn shot of a row of Sturmtigers.) |

What's surprising is that a torrent exists for the episode, and it has the subtitles and the Sentai credits billboard at the end, too.

That came from Hidive, who had the episode up with subtitles with only a few hours' delay. I'd love to see a review of the final episode, but I understand that there's no legal way for the reviewer to see it yet. Anime Strike is really only getting worse. |

The anime is giving the impression (and creating a bit of a plot hole) that the girls are currently the only humans alive in the city,aside from the city's upper most level.
The manga is rather more clear.The recyclers (Mushroom/Dough-Weasel folks) tell the girls they've only searched the upper levels,again aside from the highest level,of the city and have found no other living humans. Ishii and what's his name(Kanazawa) are more than likely still kick'in.They are on the lower levels...poor Ishii being pretty much at the ground floor as it were. Story IS about having hope&living,after all. |
