So I think Max is the only member of LAVA who hasn't been in MHA yet? Unless I'm missing something. Ray Chase was in the first MHA film to boot.

Definitely a nice surprise choice for sure, but not a huge shock. It makes more sense for Colleen to cast outside her more easily available talent network for one-off/movie characters like that where there's little chance of needing a random reprisal during the weekly simuldub season.
Although that being said, we've also seen more LA actors cast in the show proper over the past two seasons (most recently Ben Diskin), and I think remote recording has helped widen doors quite a bit when it comes to the options. |

Now that you mention it, knowing Horikoshi's love of Spider-Man, having an actual Spidey VA fighting Deku is kind of hilarious. |
