Well, no angry rant this week, so it's another excuse to just post cute pictures, right?

I just thought the super double length column posted was taking bit longer to upload and now I see this.

I'm fine, life just got completely in the way. After the reaction to last week's "all rants" column, I decided to just let it go this week.

I promise, however, that the column will return next week. I'm also deciding what to do with the rant section since it's obviously become a polarizing thing.

I could do without the flakes. Its funny sure. Its baiscally just some idiot, then we all go: OMG lol! That guy is so stupid...

Id rather see another question awnsered instead.

As for the rants. Theyve become stale. The problem is that because people generally feel strongly about the same things, the rants are likely to be on similar topics. After last weeks rant, I've made a couple attempts to write a rant on something out of the ordinary, but both times I've gotten half way through and realized: I dont even feel very strongly about this. Hell, I barely even agree with what Im saying here.

Half the time anyone who does feel strongly enough to write a rant on something outta the ordinary will often be either crazy, pointless, or just incorrect or something.


I see a few possibilities:

1) Just get rid of the rant section.

2) Only post rants when you get a good one. I dont see why it HAS to happen every week.

3) Set some guidelines for the rants.

The current rules are pretty vauge. If we dont want any more rants about Fansubs/DubsvsSubs/etc. Put that in the rules. This doesnt guaruntee that better rants will be submitted, but it might help. If you wanna write a rant but know you cant write it on those topics, you might think up something else to write about instead. At the very least it will save having to sift through all the crap.

I can't wait.
I don't hate the rants, as I can easily ignore the lousy ones, but The Ramblin' Wreck stole the words off my keyboard. There's usually some interesting stuff within the actual Q&A of the column, and while I make it a point to mention things that stand out to me, the rant seems to dominate the forum discussion. Whether the rants stay or go, it's fine with me, though I won't miss them if they go. Better to have 12 pages of quality discussion in the thread than 24 pages of flamewars.
