FUNimation can milk this cow all they want. Eventually it's going to run dry whether they like it or not. The majority of the fans are already pleased with their orange boxes, the purists are pleased with the Dragon Boxes, and the filler haters have Kai. The only audience that is left for this release are either Blu-Ray obsessors or techies, and they're practically in the minority.

Here's some advice for FUNimation: Find a new cash cow, otherwise you're going to be in for a rude financial awakening.

I'm not doing your homework, Zac. You can figure this out on your own.

You wanna know the difference between the Japanese and Funi dubs in regards to the script? The original series by Toriyama and the anime adaptation had a serious mood with serious characters never joking. In the first Funi dub, Vegeta was given some childish overacting like "Sad for you!!" and "Idiots, behind you Ahhrggh!"
The DBKai dub made the it more faithful replacing these lines with an angry "What did you just day?!" and "Idiots, he is behind you!!", respectively. The same goes for all the villains whose voice actors apparently believed they were voicing characters from a porno:

Masako Nozawa's Son Goku is recognizable and iconic as much as Akira Kamiya for his work on other past Shounen/SJ heavyweights (FoTS, City Hunter, Kinnikuman, etc.,). I also like her roles as Tetsuro in GE999 and Kitaro in Hakaba Kitaro . I don't think reviews like this help an already fragmented fanbase, but to each his own.

You obviously didn't listen to the most recent ANNcast with Funi. Also this is the whole point in doing the release. You pretty much answered your own question. The reason they are doing this release is because they know they can make money on it. It's getting special treatment because this tittle has been so good to them they can afford to make the ultra super edition.

This also is a good test and idea on what BD discs should look like in the future. Many old movies get this kind of treatment especially old classics and they look amazing. Really bringing new life to the film. So lets hope this is a small step to a new beginning of this kind of thing from FUNi, but I dont see that happening for some time to come.

So why were the Ultimate Uncuts cancelled?

Soooo... was the beginning of Z just a really weird time for Toriyama? Because I've read the whole Dragon Ball manga through this point (think I've gotten about as far as the Namek landing) and I can't see the kind of comical dialogue you're describing being remotely out of place.

Serious Toriyama. The best joke ever.
Sainta no offence, but the only releases I've seen that had completely serious dialogues were early fansubs and very bad scanlations.

Oh come on, the bored Sean Schemmel can't hold a candle to Nozawa, her screams perfectly fit Goku and are just filled with emotion. Not to mention her attacks just sound amazing.

The thing is, if you own, say, the Dragon Box sets, you already have all of the audio options, along with superior packaging and all of the visual clarity that you really need.
The Dragon Box sets didn't have the altered English music score.

This review was trash. When the video portion of your blu-ray review is repeating your opinion it shouldn't be in high definition, instead of providing any consumers with real information, you need to do something better with your time.

Also some [insult removed] animu fans need to stop raising their noses at the fact something they think is beneath them is more popular than their shows will ever be in a thousand years. I'm sure if some of you guys ran Funimation, they would be out of business in a week. Yeah, they sure are milking the cow all right. Guess what, if they didn't do that, none of your shows would ever be released. Stop your whining.

Yeah, I dislike when people bitch about the "milking" of DBZ, because its sales go to funding other licenses. Let's say you don't like DBZ. You should still support however many release it gets, because Funimation can use the profit to buy other fine programs.

Funimation didn't become a juggernaut through Casshern Sins. It's good ol' "FIRIN' MAH LAHZOR" DBZ that runs through its veins. And Kami bless it.
