Square Enix's Idol Fantasy Idol-Raising Smartphone Game Gets Anime Promo
posted on by Lynzee Loveridge
Square Enix's idol-raising smartphone game Idol Fantasy combines the magical character traits of a traditional RPG with the attractive, boy idol craze. Imagine the buff warrior, fresh from defeating the Demon Lord, starring as the 'center' with a glasses wearing white mage and fiery heartthrob black mage. This is the kind of team the game creators imagined when creating Idol Fantasy
The game is set in a world where the real world and fantasy world cross over, and casts players as the producer of a unique talent agency that manages idols that are heroes from a fantasy world, who are able to use swords, fly, or use magic. All of these heroes are aiming to become the industry's top idol, and players must manage their schedules for concerts, or cast them in commercials or movies.
The game includes four idol groups, all of whom appear in the game's new animated promotional video.
Idol Fantasy focuses on the groups BRAVE HEARTS, E-lements, JINGI, and Sweets! Mon-Star! The cast line-up is:
- Ren Hoshino (Makoto Furukawa)
- Soma Kanon (Kentarō Kumagai)
- Junya Toride (Toshiki Masuda)
- Chikahito Mitsuki (Arthur Lounsbery)
- Akira Isaki (Ayumu Murase)
- Koki Homura (Taku Yashiro)
- Luka Shizuku (Yūto Uemura)
- Hayato Yabuki (Yusuke Shirai)
- Ganta Akechi (Junta Terashima)
The game's character designers include Gen Kobayashi (Schoolgirl Strikers), Tetsuya Nomura (Final Fantasy series), and Yasuhisa Izumisawa (World of Final Fantasy), Sō Kirishima (MARGINAL #4 the Animation), Teita (Norn9, Sengoku Night Blood), Jiro Suzuki (Higurashi When They Cry: Curse Killing Arc), memo, Satsuki Yoshino (Barakamon), Higasa Akai (The Royal Tutor), Iro Aida (Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun), and Samako Natsu (Dance with Devils - Blight-).
The game is slated for release on iOS and Android devices this summer. The game has already reached 400,000 pre-registered players.
