This year's San Diego Comic-Con wants to make attendees part of the Super Saiyan action. Toei Animation Inc., Funimation, Bluefin, and Bandai are planning an impressive assortment of Dragon Ball Z programming for the convention, including a Guinness World Records attempt on opening day. Attendees are welcome to join in to create "the largest gathering of people simultaneously performing the iconic Kamehameha super energy attack move."
The record attempt will be held at the Marriott Marina Terrace at the Marriot Marquis San Diego hotel at 3:30 p.m on Wednesday, July 17. The first 1,000 participants will receive a free Dragon Ball Scouter accessory to wear during the Guinness World Records attempt. Goku voice actor Sean Schemmel will lead the crowd while a Guinness World Records appointee oversees and validates the attempt.
The event is part of the larger 2019 Dragon Ball World Adventure at San Diego Comic-Con. Fans of Akira Toriyama's series can demo the latest Dragon Ball video games at interactive kiosks, take photos at the Dragon Ball animated GIF photo booth, collect stickers for the sticker rally at each attraction inside the Dragon Ball World Adventure. The stickers can be traded in for Dragon Ball wristbands, posters, lanyards, stickers, fans and Saiyan Hair Set headbands.
Collectors will want to nab of S.H.Figuarts, Tamashii Nations, Shokugan, and Banpresto event exclusives at the Tamashii Nations Booth #3545 inside the Comic-Con Main Hall. Buyers will need an exclusive merchandise time slot issued by San Diego Comic-Con to purchase the items.
San Diego Comic-Con will take place from July 17-21 at the San Diego Convention Center in California.
