May'n, Wake Up Girls, Kiyono Yasuno Sing Restaurant to Another World Anime's Themes

Yasuno also cast as treasure hunter Sarah in summer anime

The ANiUTa Live 2017 ANiUPa!! concert event revealed the artists behind the Restaurant to Another World (Isekai Shokudō) television anime's theme songs on Saturday.

Even though they are on different music labels, singer May'n and the voice actress unit Wake Up, Girls! are collaborating on the opening theme song "One in a Billion." They are forming the special collaboration unit "Wake Up, May'n!" for the song, and the song's single will go on sale on August 9 in two versions (a limited first edition with a music video Blu-ray Disc, and a regular edition). With the theme of "once-in-a-lifetime chance," the song goes hand-in-hand with the anime's story, which depicts heartwarming encounters.

Voice actress Kiyono Yasuno (Kaname Buccaneer in Macross Delta, Tina Kobayakawa in Wake Up, Girls!) is contributing the ending theme song. Yasuno announced her debut as a solo artist in April, and the ending theme will be on her first mini album "Namida." (Tears.), which goes on sale on July 26. In addition, Yasuno is also voicing the treasure hunter Sarah in the anime itself.
Saturday's event also unveiled a new visual:

The original story centers on a restaurant called "Yōshoku no Nekoya" (Western Cuisine Cat Restaurant), which is located on the first basement floor of a building at a corner of a shopping district near an office area. While it normally feeds salarymen, there is a secret in Nekoya. Every Saturday when the shop takes a day off, Nekoya is teeming full of "special customers." For the office workers, it is a familiar place with familiar dishes, but for these Saturday customers — "people from that world" — it is nothing but cuisine never seen or heard before.

The anime stars Junichi Suwabe (Fate/stay night's Archer, Yuri!!! on Ice's Victor) as the restaurant's shopkeeper, and Sumire Uesaka (Kan Colle's Fubuki, Chaos;Child's Serika) as Aletta. Aletta is the daughter of a magical being who works at the restaurant one day a week.

Masato Jinbo (Fate/kaleid liner Prisma☆Illya 3rei!!, Chaos;Child) is directing the anime at SILVER LINK, and is also supervising the series' scripts. Takao Sano (Chitose Get You!!, Shomin Sample, Nurse Witch Komugi R) and Keiichi Sano (Heaven's Memo Pad, Strike the Blood, Absolute Duo) are adapting Katsumi Inami's original character designs for animation.

The anime will premiere this summer.

Inuzuka launched the story on the Shōsetsu-ka ni Narō (literally, "Let's Become Novelists") website in 2013, and Shufunotomo's Hero Bunko imprint published the first print volume in February 2015. Katsumi Inami has been drawing the illustrations, and the third volume shipped last September.

Takaaki Kugatsu launched a manga adaptation in Square Enix's Young Gangan magazine in November. The manga revealed that it was heading toward its climax last month.
