Hayate the Combat Butler's Final 2 Volumes Get Limited Editions With Side Stories

posted on by Rafael Antonio Pineda
Both volumes slated for June 16

Shogakukan's listings for the 51st and 52nd compiled book volumes of Kenjirō Hata's Hayate the Combat Butler (Hayate no Gotoku!) manga reveal that both volumes will get limited editions that will bundle side stories. The 51st volume's side stories are teased as centering on secrets and hidden sides to the characters, while the 52nd volume's side stories are teased as centering on what happens to the characters after the main story.

Both the 51st and 52nd volumes are slated for June 16.

Hata launched the manga in Shogakukan's Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine in 2004, and ended it on April 19. Shogakukan published the manga's 50th volume on February 17.

The wraparound jacket band on the 48th compiled volume of Hayate the Combat Butler confirmed in May 2016 that the manga's story was approaching its climax. Weekly Shonen Sunday then announced last October that the manga was entering its final arc in November.

Hata teased in November that he wants to start a new series this year.

The manga has inspired four television anime seasons in 2007, 2009, 2012, and 2013, as well as a three-episode OVA in 2014. The manga also inspired the Hayate the Combat Butler! Heaven Is a Place on Earth anime film in 2011.

Crunchyroll streamed all four series. Bandai Entertainment licensed the first series and released it on DVD in 2009. Sentai Filmworks licensed all four seasons and the film, and released all of them throughout 2015.
