The staff of the live-action film adaptation of Rensuke Oshikiri's Misumisō horror manga revealed on Wednesday that Anna Yamada (seen below) will play the lead character Haruka Nozaki. The film's official website also unveiled a visual and April 7 opening for the film.
Eisuke Naitō (live-action Lychee Light Club) is directing the film, with a script by Miako Tadano.
The manga centers on Haruka Nozaki, a young middle school girl who, due to her father's job, has to transfer from her school in Tokyo to a school that is about to close, located in a rural town. As an outsider, she immediately faces severe bullying. Not wanting to cause trouble for her sister and the rest of her family, Haruka had planned to just ignore them until graduation. But when the bullying escalates, her parents die in a fire, while her sister survives with severe burns. Haruka then plans her revenge.
Oshikiri launched the manga in Bunkasha's Horror M magazine in 2007 and ended it in 2009. Bunkasha published three compiled book volumes for the manga, and Futabasha re-released the manga in two volumes in 2013.
