Steins;Gate 0 TV Anime's Promo Video Reveals April Premiere Date

The official website of the Steins;Gate anime revealed on Thursday that the anime adaptation of the Steins;Gate 0 game will premiere in April after the current rebroadcast of the 2011 anime ends. The website also revealed the first promotional video, main cast, and staff for the anime. The announcement marked the birthday of main character Rintarō Okabe.
The anime's cast will include:
- Mamoru Miyano as Rintarō Okabe
- Kana Hanazawa as Mayuri Shiina
- Tomokazu Seki as Itaru Hashida
- Asami Imai as Kurisu Makise
- Saori Goto as Moeka Kiryū
- Yū Kobayashi as Ruka Urushibara
- Halko Momoi as Faris Nyannyan
- Yukari Tamura as Suzuha Amane
- Sayuri Yahagi as Maho Hiyajō
- Megumi Han as Kagari Shiina
- Yukari Tamura as Yuki Amane
All of the cast members are reprising their roles from previous games and anime.
Kenichi Kawamura (Qualidea Code, SoniAni: Super Sonico the Animation) is directing the anime at White Fox (Girls' Last Tour, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-). Jukki Hanada (Love Live! Sunshine!!, Nichijō) is returning from the previous anime to be in charge of series composition. Tomoshige Inayoshi (Buddy Complex, Battle Spirits: Sword Eyes), who was an episode animation director for the first television anime, is designing the characters based on huke's original designs.
Kadokawa revealed the anime as part of the "Steins;Gate World Line 2017-2018 Project" in July. The company also revealed a key visual for the project.
Taka Himeno launched a manga adaptation of Steins;Gate 0 on August 4. A novel adaptation will also launch under Kadokawa's Sneaker Bunko imprint.
Kadokawa had said at Anime Expo that the project would launch in the "2018-2019" timeframe.
Steins;Gate 0, a follow-up game to the original Steins;Gate game, was initially announced in March 2015 with an anime adaptation in the works, but no details on the anime had been announced since. A previous rebroadcast of the original Steins;Gate anime took an alternate route toward the Steins;Gate 0 story in December 2015, the same month the game debuted in Japan.
Production company Mages. announced the upcoming game Steins;Gate Elite, a major update of the original Steins;Gate game with new elements, in May. The game replaces scenes in the original visual novel with scenes from the anime adaptation. The game is slated for March 15 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Switch in Japan.
Set in Tokyo's Akihabara district, the original game followed Rintarō Okabe as he changes fate by travelling between different world lines. The game inspired a 2011 television anime as well as the Steins;Gate – The Movie – Load Region of Déjà Vu sequel, and the Steins;Gate 0 game. The game franchise boasts over 1 million copies.
